Addiction?

You would think that only adults have addictions, but that’s not true. TV is a drug. Studies say that children should watch no more than two hours of television a day. They say that TV is potentially damaging because of the flashing bright colors, loud sounds, and frequent fragmentation of reality it is too much for young minds to manage. Although, parents say technology makes their children smarter it is proven that it isn’t that good for younger people. They do say that everything bad is good for you in a way. Just like any drug if you are exposed to it too much it dulls your senses. At dradamcox.com it states “The brain is an organ that is unique in that it develops in response to its environment – and if you’re continually “blasting” a young developing mind with rapid-fire images, you may be creating a mind that craves high level stimulation but lacks the ability to focus in attention” this shows us that children shouldn’t watch too much TV.                                                          Unción is only five years old and she has an addiction of watching television. After researching the cause of TV I am going to limit her time watching TV. She is really addicted to the TV because she watches it all day when she comes home from school and she watches it before school. She watches Lalaloopsy, Sofia the 1st, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and Total Divas.  She doesn’t just watch kid shows she also watches adult shows. She loves watching movies like Brave, Tangled, Wreck it Ralph, and Frozen. I don’t think that it is bad for her to watch television I just think that when I am watching her I am only going to allow her to watch TV for 30 minutes. I don’t want her brain cells to be dead. I don’t want her to be addicted to drugs and if TV is a drug than I don’t want her to be addicted to it either. She loves not only the TV, but technology in general. I know she is going to throw a fit, but I just want to help her.

Happy Birthday Unción

Unción's birthday was November 9th. She finally turned five years old and I feel so blessed to be a part of her life. In these five year I have learned many things about here and I've learned even more now. She is one of the biggest blessings God has ever given me. She was so excited and she keep telling everyone that she was finally a whole hand. Her birthday party was on November 1st. Her party was based on the movie Frozen and she was dressed up as Elsa. When she opened up her gifts she was happy because mostly everything was based on the movie  Frozen.  What really made everyone laugh was when she opened the gift my uncle bought her she said "Really that's all". I thought she was going to be happy because he bought her the Frozen movie, but I guess she really wasn't. She did ask me why they made her birthday party a week before her real birthday, but I really didn't know why. When we finally got home she was playing with her gifts and she thanked God for everything. She really taught me how to be grateful.
Ever since she was born she went to church. The first day her parents took her to church they dedicated her to God. That's what they do to all the babies in the church. They say that the reason they named her Unción is because she is going to be anointed her whole life. Having that name gives her a big responsibility. That means that she going to have to be an example and a Christian her whole life. I guess it isn't going to be hard for her because that's the only life she knows about.  She wont be like me that I waited until something happened in my life to become a Christian. She already prays and reads the bible. When we tell people they are surprised because she is only five years old and she does things that a most Christian haven't even done yet. I don't think that it is going to be hard for her to be an example because she only learned good things since she was born.

Humble

I have learned a lot from Unción even though she is just four years old. She has taught me how to love and care about people even if I hate them. Last week she taught me how to be humble. She used to be scared of homeless people, but now she will go up to them and hug them. I know that many people wouldn't go and hug a homeless person because they get grossed out, but she did. That reminds me last year she went up to a homeless man and she gave him some her food. I guess that she does this because her older brother used to always do this.
On Thursday she grabbed a bottle of lotion and rubbed it all over her moms feet and my moms feet. This reminded me of Jesus when he washed his disciples feet. Jesus didn't care if the disciples feet were dirty or if they had fungus he just wasted there feet. She does things out of nowhere that reminded me that I should be more humble. Personally I wouldn't massage anyone's feet because feet are nasty. I don't massage my own feet so why would I do it to someone else. I know I don't sound like a Christian , but I am just trying to be honest.
In June when I went to El Salvador with her she gave away all her clothes to little girls that she would see around the street. Also, she would go every morning to the store and she would buy chips and drinks for the children she would see through out the day.  If someone is hungry she gives them the food she is going to eat. If Someone is naked she will take her clothes off and give it to them. That also reminds me of Jesus because he says that if someone is hungry we should give them something to eat and if someone is naked we should cloth them. She is humble and I hope that she stays humble even when she grows up.

The Next Mia Hamm

Unción spends hours after school playing soccer. She is only four years old and she is already scoring goals. Last week she scored three goals in a twenty minute game. What I thought was weird was that every time she made a goal she would twirk. I wondered if she started twirking because she was excited or just because she felt like twirking. Know I wonder how taught her. I don't think four year olds naturally know how to twirk.
One of my uncles on my moms side of my family is a professional soccer player. My dads side of my family has always played soccer they never were professional soccer players, but they did play. Soccer runs in are blood. Maybe she will be the next professional soccer player in my family. When my family watches soccer games we always fight on who is going to win. Maybe Barcelona will win or maybe Real Madrid will win. Unción doesn't really like to watch it, but she likes to play it.
I don't really know what position she wants to play in because she tends to play in every position. I guess I will just have to wait a couple of years to see what position she will play in. I really think that she is going to play forward. I  mean she is always scoring goals. One of my worries is that she might not go that far because she is a sore loser like my brother. All my family has played soccer and maybe that's why she likes playing soccer. I've noticed that she rather play soccer than any other sport. I can say that she knows how to play very well. what if she grows up and she doesn't even want to play soccer? The only mystery now is What if I look at her twenty years from now and she is the next Mia Hamm? I mean your not good at something because your born with it, your good at something because you practice.

The Amazing World of Unción

Unción in english means anointed. She is my cousin and she is four years old.  Although she is only four she is very outgoing and really smart. Now that I have started observing her I have noticed that she is a soccer player, a princess, a boss, a singer and a daughter of God. I guess right now isn't the best time to actually say what she is going to be, but I do have an idea of what she might be. I have learned a lot about her in these four years, but I have never actually thought of observing her until now. Well I know for sure that I have learned to change diapers and make bottles since I have done it ever since she was born. I've watched her learn how to crawl, walk, run, and talk. I've seen her go to school and well I guess you can say that I have watched her grow up.
Unción is sassy like my sister, a sore looser like my brother, and loves to sing like me. Her dad is Mexican and her mom is Salvadorian, but she was born in the united states. She was born to a Christian family. She gets spoiled by my whole family and her sister gets mad because she is spoiled. I think that she is a mixture of my whole family since she is the littlest and gets to observe what everyone does. Her name states who she is. If you know what her name means than you probably will guess that she is Christian. If you ask her what her religion is she will tell you that she is a Christian.
